German Trade Fair and Venue Rules for Inflatable Installations
The municipality, the fire authority and the venue set the rules, and trade fair venues publish detailed exhibitor rules covering structures and materials. Venues often ask for fire documentation such as DIN 4102-B1, and larger structures may need engineering documents. The supplier's contribution is product information: a scaled drawing with inflated dimensions and footprint, the material specification, the blower's electrical details, and the anchoring or ballasting arrangement. Ask for the exhibitor manual or the venue's rules before production starts.

The exhibitor manual is the specification
The municipality, the fire authority and the venue set the rules, and trade fair venues publish detailed exhibitor rules covering structures and materials. Venues often ask for fire documentation such as DIN 4102-B1, and larger structures may need engineering documents.
For a trade fair project the manual is not background reading: it is the document that decides what can be built. It covers structures, materials, rigging and the deadlines for submitting documentation, and it is published well before move-in precisely because those answers change the build.
Fire documentation, before the material is cut
Fire behaviour is a property of the material. A requirement that arrives after production has started is a rebuild rather than an amendment, which is why the wording from the venue goes to the supplier at the briefing stage, verbatim.
Ask for the requirement in the venue's own terms. The standard named in the manual is the specification.
Engineering documents on larger pieces
Larger structures may need engineering documents in addition to the material and electrical information. That is a question for the venue and the organiser, and it is asked before the size is fixed rather than after the piece exists.
What the manufacturer supplies into it is the product data: inflated dimensions, footprint, weight, material specification and the anchoring arrangement.
The blower and the socket
The blower is electrical equipment and the venue's rules normally cover it. Both the 650 W electric pump and the 1600 W electric pump run on 110–240 V, 50–60 Hz, and the plug type for the destination is confirmed on the order.
Cable runs matter on a stand: the manual usually specifies how they are covered and where they may cross a walkway.
Outdoor conditions are a separate question
Winter markets and outdoor campaigns run in cold, wet conditions, and an exposed square behaves differently from a sheltered courtyard. A Christmas market stand and a summer plaza activation are different fixing problems, and the ground surface decides the hardware that ships with the piece.
No fixed wind speed is published for these products, because no tested, model-specific limit exists. The anchoring and shutdown plan is site-specific and agreed with the organiser.

Material specifications
| Specification | Typical use | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Double-layer PVC | General construction for custom advertising inflatables | The default build for most promotional structures. |
| 0.4 mm PVC | Large-format projects | Used on delivered large-format orders. |
| 0.5 / 0.6 / 0.7 mm PVC mesh | Engineered structures | Specified where the structure carries load, spans further, or faces sustained wind exposure. |
Air system specifications
| Pump | Airflow | Pressure | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| 650 W electric pump | 1,600–2,000 L/min | 2.0 psi | Smaller spheres, compact displays and short-duration indoor installations |
| 1600 W electric pump | 4,800–5,200 L/min | 4.5 psi | Large-format structures, arches and continuously inflated outdoor displays |
Both pumps cover 110–240 V at 50–60 Hz, so the same air system suits 110 V and 220–240 V markets. Confirm the plug type for the destination country.
