The Spanish Event Calendar and What It Means for Your Order Date

The outdoor and fiesta season is long, with peaks in spring and summer. Las Fallas in Valencia runs from 15 to 19 March, and 12 October is the Fiesta Nacional de España, set by Ley 18/1987.

That shape is unusual and it changes the planning. Most markets have one ordering season; Spain effectively has two, because a March installation and an October one are briefed six months apart and compete with different queues.

Las Fallas falls in the middle of March. Working back with production and freight, that puts artwork approval before the end of the previous year — in the weeks when a buyer is closing the current year rather than planning the next.

A campaign for it that starts in January is already late. This is the single most common way a Spanish project misses its date.

Bulk production typically takes 3–8 days for simple items, 7–15 days for standard custom work and 15–25 days for complex or large pieces, counted from final design approval. Freight comes on top: express or air usually 4–15 working days, and sea, rail or truck usually 20–45 days, after dispatch and subject to route and customs. Clearance is a separate step.

Working back from the Fiesta Nacional on 12 October, that means approving artwork by late July for a complex piece shipped by sea, or by late August for air freight.

Summer heat and sun exposure are intense inland and in the south, while coastal sites add wind and salt air. An inland summer installation and a coastal one are different material and fixing problems, and the hardware travels with the order.

Say whether the site is inland or coastal, paved or sand, and how long the piece will stand.

The product type, the target size or the constraint that fixes it, the quantity, print-ready artwork with colour references, the destination city, indoor or temporary outdoor use, and the on-site date. MOQ is 1 piece for most custom projects, so a first piece can be reviewed before a repeat order.

Name the autonomous community as well as the city. It changes which rules the organiser is working to, and therefore which documents the supplier is asked for.
